Upgrade process was clean and everything ran rock solid ever since. Lastly, I lost track of where the DVD is since I didn't have to use it after the initial installation.
Some vendors limits this to one time and charge shipping for additional. Few months ago, I request a copy of recovery CD for HP laptop (work) and got it in a few days. I tend to ignore sarcastic comments that brings no value to the discussion, but will comment on one. : ) And the commercial model is quite fascinating. ($30 is ridiculously cheap price for such a solid OS) But it just feel silly to buy same software twice. I have spent way too much time on this topic and should have just bought another copy. When I bought Snow Leopard, did I buy the DVD or usage right of the OS itself? If I make a "back up" copy of DVD by borrowing someone else's, it is illegal? The value proposition between the software itself and physical medium to transport it becomes blur. However, this does bring another question. Similar to network gear or any other proprietary equipment like the game consoles.

It is quite cool to be able to provide the OS without the complication of license key. It does make sense since it can only run on a proprietary hardware. Did a bit of reading on the web and learned that the commercial model is quite different for OSX than other software.
